Our Story

How We Got Started With Multi-Pure

Janice and I have been health conscious for the entire time when have been together, since 1986. We have both been vegetarians most of that time, we get organic produce from our health food store, and we avoid drugs, chemicals and processed foods to a large degree.

In 1988 we attended a presentation about water filters here in Jacksonville, Florida. We became convinced that we should not be drinking tap water and that a filter was the way to go. But was the filter we were shown the best one to get? I investigated other filters. Having a masters degree in engineering, it was easy for me to understand the specifications of each filter. Boy was I surprised!

I learned that most filters use granulated carbon. Two things happen with these products:

1. The water goes between the granules, while with solid carbon block filters the water is forced through the pores of the carbon. Most filters, I found from their specs, remove particles down to 5 microns. Solid carbon block filters remove particles as small as .5 microns.

2. That when water sits in the filter, after the chlorine has been removed, bacteria can grow. But the solid block creates an atmosphere where bacteria cannot grow (lack of oxygen). Some filters contained silver to kill the bacteria, but that has two problems. First of all, I have read that silver is not really effective in killing bacteria, and secondly, some silver, a heavy metal like lead, gets into the water.

There was no doubt that the solid carbon block was the best of the filters. We not only purchased one, we decided to become distributors so we could share our enthusiasm with others.

Our Experiences

Shortly after we received our unit our son Aaron was born. We did not sterilize water for him because we felt that the filtered water was safe and pure. Sometimes the city runs the water wide open from the fire hydrant in our neighborhood to flush out the sediment in the pipes. We would have brown tap water for a few days after they do that. But our Multi-Pure water would always be crystal clear. Also, there have been a few cases of giardia cysts infecting water supplies some places in our area. Though our neighborhood has never been affected, we have had piece of mind knowing that our drinking water would be safe if our water system did get contaminated.
